Legally Speaking — Narasimhan Vijayaraghavan
We live in tough times. The timeline is set by the Pandemic. Typically, nations are on lockdown. Judiciary is not an island. It too is on one. Yet, we are not living in isolation. We live in such strange and weird times that we are all connected. Not only an interconnected world but an interdependent one too. The World is Flat as NandanNilekani put it and Thomas Friedman, the NewYork Times columnist tucked into it for his best seller. That was in 2008. Twelve years down the line, it looks like aeons have passed. Yuval Noah Harari, the history professor from Hebrew University, has warmed of 'Digital Dictatorship' and 'Human Hacking'. And the technological surveillance at play has been demonstrated at Wuhan, Hubei Province, China, from where Coronavirus or Coronavirus Disease 2019 (Covid19) for short broke out. It is fearsome and scary. Yet, scintillating, novel and fascinating to follow.
